In addition to research, Claudia enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with others through science outreach and outdoor education.
Swiss Semester 2016
In the fall of 2016, Claudia co-taught a college-level geology course to high school students at Swiss Semester. As a faculty member, Claudia designed a geology course introducing students to the basics of geololgy and environemtnal science. In addition to teaching students in lecture, her class included a lab component that encouraged students to explore the structural geology, geomorphology, and glaciology of the Swiss Alps. With these geologic features right at her fingertips, Claudia helped bring the complicated history of the Alps to life. Not only was she a teacher, Claudia also led students on hiking, biking, and rock climbing trips.
